Hey family, friends, and supporters!
We’re finally sitting in our home away from home after a long day of travel. Our team met at 2:30 pm at O’Hare on Friday to embark on our travel-filled day. We had a turbulent flight from Chicago to Warsaw on a very nice new plane (though we landed safely), followed by a very smooth flight on an old prop-plane from Warsaw to Budapest (that was a first for me.) But, other than the turbulence and a lack of sleep all-around, we arrived safely—a bit tired and hungry. We were met at the Budapest airport by Shaun Carlaw (the missionary we will be working closely alongside for the camp) and Jared Zacharias, a new missionary to the Balaton-region of Hungary. They drove us from Budapest to Hegyesd, with a short stop for our last taste of American food for a while at Burger King. Hegyesd greeted us with a thunderstorm, but our team has some renewed energy as we unpack and get a much needed shower (I speak for myself there.) We are hoping this energy will keep us up until a reasonable sleeping hour.
Here are a few ways you can be praying for us:
- Pray that we would all have a good night sleep and not suffer from much jet-lag.
- Pray that God would prepare us spiritually, as we meet with local believers for church tomorrow morning.
- Pray that God would prepare our team for English camp as we have orientation tomorrow with Shaun and our translators.
Thanks for your prayers for safe and smooth travels here! You’ll hear from us again on Monday!
