God Uses a Cafe – Maggie T.

I have had just over a week in downtown Budapest and it has been an amazing week. I came to Hungary before the rest of the Tapolca team to see how the Montázs Art Café works for art in missions. I’m interested in missions after school so being able to see how my field of study works for God’s glory has been very motivating. I have seen in the café that art is used to be able to get into deeper, more meaningful conversations faster than a normal conversation. I learned from talking with the café director that apart from the art, even running a business opens up doors to minister to fellow business people. It is truly amazing how much God can do through a café.

Maggie & AnnaAlong with seeing the café I have been able to explore the beautiful city of Budapest and meet some really delightful people. The girl I’m rooming with, Sam, is a bit older than me and in a masters program. Even though we are different ages and in different seasons of life we have gotten along well. It’s been interesting to experience the connection of the Holy Spirit at work when you meet fellow Christians who are different from you. I have also worked with a member of the café staff team named Anna (on the right in the picture.) Together we have lugged around art supplies on public transportation, gotten lost and seen a Beatles cover band concert! It’s been a blessing to be in Budapest! I am grateful everyday that God allowed me to have such an amazing experience.

(PS – The Tapolca Team arrived safe and sound into Budapest and are on their way with Maggie to serve in Tapolca.)
