Today was our second day of camp and we can already see God at work! The kids had a blast playing capture the flag during game time, participating in crafts, and talking with new friends! Sam gave a powerful teaching from Philippians about the joy we have since “to live is Christ and to die is gain,” and why Paul chose to live as long as he could for Christ, even though he was looking forward to Heaven.
I saw God at work today in a very real and powerful way. I was able to watch a 15 year old girl named “Sue” come to know Christ. She understood for the first time that she didn’t need to do amazing things or be a “perfect” person to know that she was saved. Her eyes lit up with joy when I read her Romans 10:9, which tells us all that all we must do is confess Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead. After hearing the story of the thief next to Jesus on the cross, reading this verse, and hearing my own testimony, she prayed that God would take control of her life and be her savior. I told her angels were rejoicing because she had become a child of the King.
God is teaching me that although we are so powerless on our own, He can use us in so many ways. I know that the conversations I am having with the Hungarian kids are words God is putting on my heart to say and He alone is giving me the courage I need to share the gospel. Praise God for all He is doing in Hungary!
Thank you for being open to the Spirit’s leading in talking with Sue. Praying for the team and the young people coming to the camp.
You were prepared with an answer for the hope that is in you, and I know you have been blessed beyond measure to be given the opportunity to see the immediate fruit for sharing it! I pray that you will be forever encouraged to share your faith wherever the Lord may take you. I rejoice with you and the angels 🙂 !
