Here’s a cool story from last Friday’s youth group in Tapolca. Stephen, a missionary from Ireland, gave a message to the students gathered around the dining room table explaining Jesus as the Light of the World from John 8. There were about ten teens there. They were very engaged, but much too shy to ask questions. They quickly retreated into the living room and I began cleaning up the dishes and pans we used to make homemade pizza earlier. An English/Hungarian bible was sitting on the table and Szilard’s brother, Barney, picked it up. He was thumbing through the pages and I asked him what he was looking for. Despite the language barrier we were able to find the verse he was looking for… “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'” (John 8:12 ESV) His curiosity is not a fluke. Christ is working in this boy’s heart! He attends school a couple hours from home and comes home occasionally on weekends. Please pray that he would open up with his brother, Szilard, in the time that he is home. Also pray for Szilard, that he would be able to share his love for Christ with his family, specifically his brother. Thank you!
