she had never read the bible before

Bible ImageWhen I met with Ramona again this week (Monday) we read Genesis 1. She had NEVER read the Bible before and I had to choke back tears as I counted it such an awesome privilege to share it with her for the first time. I told her about Hebrew 4:12 and Isaiah 55:11, explaining that God’s word doesn’t return void. She has been reading other spiritual material and her questions and ideas are mixed with eastern philosophy. You could hear the yoga influence in her questions. I started to get a little nervous when I realized she had many ideas that were not based on truth, but I prayed for the Lord to intercede and I remembered that my church family was praying!  However, she seemed very open and accepting of what the Bible has to say. I brought an extra, brand new Bible to Hungary just in case I could give it away and I gave it to her. She was so excited!! We will keep meeting each week while I’m here. I pray that she will know the Lord before I go. What a blessing that would be! As an aside, you can also pray for me as I plan to attend her yoga class on Wed. Yikes!

One of the other women I’m developing a relationship with is Erika. Erika has been coming to the English clubs for quite a while and has been very friendly and hospitable to all the Americans who come through.  I don’t have the impression that she is saved so although she is VERY kind – and fun – she has not been very open to spiritual conversations. Let’s continue to pray for her as many have done in the past. I am doing aerobics with her every Monday night. Maybe we could pray for a lost soul to direct me to some kind of exercise on Fridays. Then the Lord can keep me fit for good use!  🙂 God is good and is at work in Tapolca!

  1. Now I have 1 Corinthians 9 on my mind! Heading to Pray First at Itasca tonight and bringing these requests (and praises) with me!

  2. It’s such a great ministry you are carrying out. As Jesus commanded, you are making disciples! Acts 14:21
“When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch…”
We did lift you up in our prayer time today at the Orchard in Barrington.
