Yesterday was the first full day of kids camp. It brought many new activities & roles for our team. Though we all continued to serve as service staff, many members led activities involving: football (soccer), crafts (tie-dye) rock-climbing, kayaking/ paddle boarding. I was a lifeguard during free time as well as during the water front activities.
During this time, I had the opportunity to paddle-board with some of the girls. In order to kayak by themselves, the kids had to pass a swim test. However, the kids who did not pass were able to be paddled around on a paddle-board by a lifeguard. I was able to paddle-board with two girls (Annabelle & Zoe). I got to know each girl and learn a few Greek words while paddling. I realized the Lord was taking something I viewed as a pleasure activity and using it for something bigger. He took my interest/ability to paddle board and allowed me to reach girls I otherwise couldn’t have had any connection with.
Thank you for your continued prayers. Please pray our team would be filled with humility as we serve in love. Additionally, please pray we would look to the Lord’s compassion for strength as his mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-24). Please pray we would face trials (like the sun and heat!) with pure joy and that they would refine us so we are lacking in nothing.
