Greece Team Departs Today

A team of six from The Orchard travels today to partner with Hellenic Ministries in “Operation Joshua.” Operation Joshua began in 2004 to facilitate a Bible distribution program throughout the entire nation of Greece. It was birthed out of the desire to see all of Greece systematically canvassed with the Gospel , reaching the hundreds of cities, isolated towns and rural villages for Christ. This year an international team of about 400 believers of all ages will gather together in Igoumenitsa to reach out to the prefectures of northern Greece in Ioannina, Thesprotia, Preveza and Grevena, bringing the gospel to 100,000 homes in the regions’ villages.

Please pray:

  • For the nation of Greece where today the gospel is largely forgotten even though it began to be spread there by the first Christians over 2000 years ago.
  • For the vast majority of the Greek population that does not have access to the Bible in modern Greek, and less than 1% claim to be born again.
  • For the Operation Joshua staff preparing to host and coordinate the efforts of 400 volunteers traveling to deliver Bibles by cars and vans over many miles and villages of northern Greece from July 3-12.
  • For The Orchard team to arrive safely together in Igoumenitsa with hearts and bodies prepared serve the Lord joyfully in the summer heat and terrain of rural Greece delivering Bibles and gospel hope to homes.
