Tapolca Team – July 7 – Abi Mottier

It has been an exhausting two weeks of camp, but I can confidently say that every moment was worth it.  I am praising God for the work He is doing here in Hungary. It has truly been a year for a harvest and I have been so encouraged seeing some of the students proclaiming faith in Jesus Christ. The last two weeks have been full of hard questions from the campers and fruitful conversations.

Today during lunch, one of the students whom we have been praying for named Kevin told us that he had put his faith in Jesus last Friday. We were so surprised and exasperated that he hadn’t told any of us until today. We were all so happy and rejoiced with him and welcomed him into the family of believers.

Not a half hour later, I was able to share some more of my testimony with a student named Feri and he asked some really good and hard questions. I then asked him what was holding him back from becoming a Christian and he paused before answering “nothing”. Joan and I were able to pray with him right then and he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. I was humbled beyond belief that have been able to witness this joyous moment. God works in amazing ways and He is so good.

I personally have been encouraged by seeing the devotion the team has had towards intentionally spending time in the Word and in prayer every day. I have learned so much about patience, worship, forgiveness, and love these last two weeks and am so blessed to be a part of such an amazing team of believers. I have loved this amazing opportunity and being a part of the worship team has also allowed me to see a different perspective on what it means to praise God and bring glory to Him. Listening to the campers sing at the top of their lungs to Grace on Top of Grace and Mighty to Save was one of the most beautiful things I’ve had the privilege to hear.

Please be praying for the students who are still against God or still questioning Him. Pray that they will be able to find the love and forgiveness that God offers to them through His Son. Please be praying also for the new believers, that they may be able to immerse themselves in the Word and seek to learn more about God. Pray that they produce good fruit and are able to share their faith with those around them. Pray for safe travels for us to Budapest tomorrow, a fun day seeing the city, and then safe flights home on Sunday. Be praying for the camp going on in Budapest right now and that they may have a fruitful and fun last week of camp. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

Your sister in Christ,

Abi Mottier

  1. Beautifully written Abi, and what a blessing that God gave you over there! May the two that professed Christ grow deeply and be used by Him that can use all things for His glory…

  2. Abi, your camp work is greatly appreciated! We in the Orchard are praising God for His work in and thru you all in Hungary. Kevin’s conversion is such an encouragement. And Feri, too. God works in wondrous ways. Praise God for these ones who have responded with faith.

We will lift up in prayer those matters that you laid before us, that there would be lasting fruit in the lives of all believers and that he would get safely back home, Abi.
