Today was our first full day in Hungary! We thankfully arrived safely in Budapest last night; had dinner and then went to bed because we were all exhausted after traveling. After a night of sleep everyone was excited and ready for the drive to Tapolca. But first we had a relatively slow morning getting all packed up, got some lunch in Budapest and then we were on our way! On the two hour drive to Tapolca we got to see the beautiful Hungarian landscape; rolling hills, filled with cornfields, hay bales and vibrant sunflowers.
When we arrived, we got all our things upstairs into our small yet lovely home for the next two weeks. Our team will be staying in the upstairs of the town hall building where the English teen camp we are leading will occur. After getting settled, we had a team meeting in which we met our amazing translators, were reunited with the three girls from The Orchard who have been serving in Tapolca since June and met the missionaries, Shaun, Sondi and their three boys Kelen, David and Adam. Once we finished with the meeting, we got the treat of dinner cooked by Sondi consisting of delicious chili, corn and watermelon . Then we got time to talk and hang out as a team and just get to know one another better.
I am so excited for the next two weeks of camp and I’m sure everyone else is as well. Please pray for all the various nerves for the first day of camp that Christ would just put us all at peace. Also, that each of us would be bold and purposeful in declaring the gospel in every conversation we have with the campers; for the campers that God would give them open hearts and listening ears to what we are proclaiming so that they may come to faith in Jesus; for good weather; and that our team would just roll with the punches happily serving Christ in everything they do here at camp.
Check here everyday for updates from all of the team members here in Tapolca. We are so thankful for all your prayers and support. We can’t wait to share with you all of our experiences of God working here in Tapolca!
