Our last day in Hegyesd was equally as fleeting as it was beautiful. We prepared for our goodbyes with notecards covered in verses and encouragements for the students to keep. But this camp was different, it was very, very special to me. If the goodbyes weren’t cut off by the last scheduled bus to take the kids home, we would have been there until nightfall. After the tears and hugs were over we piled into the van to head back to Budapest.
We entered a whole different realm at the Budapest camp this morning. Every previous camp has been pouring the gospel out on these students. But now it’s their turn to encourage each other in the Word. A student of mine from this past summer showed up with so much excitement to attend this camp because it was advertised as a camp for deepening your faith in Jesus Christ. Camp began with a recap of the Lord, Sin, Savior, and Faith points in both English and Hungarian. Then the students practiced sharing the gospel with one another. English Camp shouldn’t be the only time that these students hear about Jesus. We encouraged them to search for solid churches and seek out opportunities for fellowship with one another in the Word.
Our team is thankful to have just arrived back in the US, but God is doing incredible things in Hungary. Our supporters and prayer warriors who backed us up are greatly appreciated. We could not have done any of this successfully without the Lord’s help.
Elise, today at our men’s prayer breakfast at Barrington we talked about “Lord- sin – Savior – faith.” A great summary. That reminds me that tomorrow Pastor Colin will speak on Second Corinthians 5:21- “The heart of the gospel. Can’t wait!
I’m so glad you’ve had the privilege of sharing this message with the people of Hungary. I hope you have a wonderful time coming back and settling back into your life here.
So encouraged to hear of this discipleship camp, and thankful for your partnership in the gospel! His glory and our joy!
