Szeged Marriage Conference – Dave

Today is the second and final day here in Szeged for the Cornerstone’s Marriage Conference. The main thing I want to share is what a blessing it is to serve on a team that is willing to share the challenges they have faced as believers and how God has upheld them in their walk of faith. What a witness this has been to the attendees that are both believers and non-believers.

Pastor Greg shared the saving grace of Jesus and how he took on the filth of our sins and we are now cleansed through grace. The illustration involved a dirty lab coat for the person representing Jesus and a clean one for Greg as a symbol of grace received. He also shared personal examples related to his marriage with the group.

Adlin’s time was spent on her responsibility to show respect to her husband. She used Proverbs 15:17 and related how she has been convicted to respond to her husband differently in situations than what she has in the past.

Carla and Peter shared 1 Corinthians 15:33 and a difficult time in their marriage from earlier in their marriage. Their testimony was powerful and a catalyst for non-customary openness among the participants. It was a blessing.

As we were reflecting on the conference in our debrief session, the whole team assessed that the conference served the needs of the attendees and was properly centered on the Gospel.

Thanks for your prayers and support.
